Could It Happen To You?

I'm so sorry for neglecting my blog; I've been super busy with nursing and jump rope travels. Life is somewhat wonderful right now--could be better... but that's life, yeah? I'm super duper excited about this weekend because I'm going to Seattle for my 25th birthday [May 11th].

... 25. Half of 50. A quarter of 100. Two and a half decades. 25 years young!

BUT...

In the news today: Queen Latifah [finally] came out of the closet! 

However, this post is not [directly] about me or Queen; I don't want to make it about us. Today on Facebook Forum For Equality posted a video titled It Could Happen To You [posted below]. When the video opened, I was tempted to close it because of the length, but I'm glad I watched it to the end. It touches my heart. It makes me think. It makes me feel. It makes me wonder if only... if only the world was a different place. No one, and I mean no one, should have to feel the way Shane Crone [the guy in this video] feels. This video made me tear up, but it's an eye opener. I know I said it once before, but it's time. It's time to stand up for what we believe in. It's time to stop discriminating, and this is why...

I just don't understand why there is so much hate/judgment/discrimination in the world. Why can't we just love? Why can't we just be happy? Is it because that's how God wants it to be? When I listen to my heart, it's not the voice of hatred. It's not the voice judgment. It's not the voice of discrimination. It's the voice of love, and it sounds a little like this...
